Passivating ServicesElectro-Spec, Inc. provides cost-effective high volume and specialty passivating services for safety-critical and high-reliability stainless steel components. We provide a full range of passivation methods utilizing appropriate nitric acid solutions on parts up to 12″ in width. The temperature, solution concentrations, and timing are adhered to as outlined for the type II, VI, VII, and VIII methods listed in AMS-QQ-P35 and QQ-P-35, and Nitric 1-5 in ASTM A 967. Passivating removes all impurities from parts and creates a hard non-reactive surface film a few atoms thick, providing resistance to oxidation, corrosion, and mild chemical attack.

All passivated parts are treated to pass the testing requirements as specified such as salt spray, high humidity testing, and water immersion among others. Electro-Spec is an accomplished provider of innovative plating services, with proven expertise serving the needs of such highly regulated and complex industries as aerospace, medical, the military, and radiofrequency microwave. All products and processes are subject to stringent quality control methods and held to the highest industry standards. For more information about our premium passivating services or the other value-added capabilities available please see the table below or contact us directly.
